Terms of Service

1. The service

FastReceipt lets you capture, store, organize, and analyze your receipts, and offers optional features such as email forwarding, group sharing, and spending insights. The Service is provided on an ongoing basis and may change over time.

2. Beta software

FastReceipt is currently offered as a beta. It may contain bugs, change without notice, and occasionally be unavailable. Automated receipt extraction can be inaccurate — you are responsible for verifying any details you rely on, including for tax, accounting, or reimbursement purposes.

3. Your account

• You must provide a valid email address and are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the receipts and other content you add ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — including extracting details and generating your insights. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you add.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to upload content you do not have the right to use.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
• Upload malware, or use the Service to infringe others’ rights or privacy.

6. Group sharing

If you share receipts with a group, the members of that group can view the receipts you share. Only share with people you trust, and share only content you are permitted to share.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the Service other than the limited right to use it as permitted here.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of extracted data, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
